Water Baby, Part Deux

Let me first say that I realize this is *technically* disgusting. But it was too cute to pass up.

'Mommy there is water everywhere in my house!!'

'I don't care that butts sit here. '

A Boy and His Dog

Hudson has discovered Max the Weimaraner and Max has quickly become H's new playmate.

Water Baby!

Our little man loves the water. Every morning while I'm getting ready for work he tries to crawl into the shower (our shower is open, with no doors and just a small tile ledge that he can easily crawl over). And every morning I am trying to get dressed while chasing him out of there since it is wet and he is dressed for school!

On Saturday we indulged him and let him have his own shower. He was in there for 15 minutes and did not want to come out.

Hmmm, is my hair 'normal' or 'color treated'?

Feeling Great and Ready to Party

From these pictures it should be clear that H was feeling well enough to go to school this morning. First he tried to break down the basement door.

When that didn't work, he headed straight for the booze. I should have known he'd take after his parents.

At least he showed good taste and went for the Stag's Leap.

Sick Baby

I was home from work yesterday with a sick Hudson. I am hoping to be able to go in today, but it's too early to tell how he's feeling (5am). Why am I up so early? Because it's SNOWING in Raleigh. This rare event is too exciting to sleep through.

Mike begrudgingly went outside and captured an image of the snow.

Discovering the Window

Hudson discovered looking out the window last night. Now I have hand prints on the window in addition to the dog nose prints.

The windows on the stair landing are the perfect height for him.

Then he thought about crawling up to the second floor, but couldn't quite figure it out.

So Mike showed him.

All in all, another fun night at our house.

Daycare After Daycare

I need to get back into the gym! Luckily for me, my gym has a daycare. But this means that if Mike is unavailable, I have to pick up from daycare, and drop Hudson off at the gym daycare. I did this yesterday so I guess that makes me Mom Of The Year.

But not to worry, during my 30 minute run he had a good time playing with the train table (and a kid who looks like he might be picking his nose).
.

Mmmamamamama

After months and months of 'Dada', Hudson said 'Muma' last night. It is fascinating watching him put his lips together to figure out the sound.

Then there was more wrestling with Dad.

Broke the Losing Streak

Vic and I went to the game yesterday and saw the Canes beat Tampa Bay in a shoot out, breaking their 4 game losing streak. I'm sure our presence there had everything to do with their win.
.
Overall, the Hurricanes have been a big bunch of loooosers this season. What's the over-under on the number of games Coach Laviolette has left before his dismissal? I don't think he'll last into December.

Yes, that is the 'Dancing Granny' behind us.

Looky what I found, circa 2005.

9 Months Old!

Yesterday Hudson turned 9 months old. Where has it all gone?

Sadly for H, his celebratory birthday dinner was a less-than-exciting combo of carrots and pasta noodles.

What?? Is this all I'm getting for dinner?

Mike arrived home just in time for the evening play session and to put his boy to bed.

Today was 'picture day' at school. This is what Hudson was supposed to wear in his photos. I got a call as I arrived to the office that he had just puked all over the outfit and was asked if I wanted to bring him a second set of clothes suitable for picture-taking. Considering that the last round of school pictures were....umm...what's the polite way to say terrible? I passed on that idea. Cheesy school photog, we'll catch ya on the flip side.
.
I got a little camera happy this morning.

Evening Routine

On the evenings when Mike is not traveling he and Hudson have a pretty well-practiced nightly routine. H has his dinner and plays downstairs. Then he comes upstairs to his bedroom, has a bath, gets on his jammies and then..... wild play time!!

It starts out innocently enough.

But soon it's a roughhouse-a-rama. 'Look out Daddy, here I come!'

Including playing 'bulldozer' where Mike rolls him over and over with his head while H giggles wildly.

Sometimes H tries to play with the nightlight / outlet which he is absolutely not allowed to touch.

Oh but what the hell. Go for it kid.

Eventually he gets tired of playtime. Monday evening was the first time he held his own bottle. Thumbs up man!

Sunday in the Leaves

Mike and Hudson raked some leaves on Sunday.

Then Mike thought it would be funny to bury the baby. Okay, it WAS kinda funny.

Max knows that somewhere in that pile of leaves are the Cheerios that used to be on Hudson's tray.

Then we went inside to shovel in some chicken and mashed potatoes.

Photo Session

Bianca posted the photos from Hudson's second session. There are some great pictures in here.

Boys Having Fun

I am sure that Mike would have been a great father to a girl. But since we only have a boy, I can say that he was meant to be a Boy-Daddy. Mike is such a kid at heart and I love seeing him be a father to a little boy. It's always something rough and tumble. Tonight it was a sword fight with foam rolls.

Before the sword fight it was cheese ravioli. He needed to carb load before the big battle.

Two Top Teeth

Hudson is getting his two front teeth. This is a sad day - he's growing up too soon.

Mike was hanging him upside down which provided for a great photo opportunity.

First Haircut

What is it about the first haircut that makes it such a ritual? Hudson's hair didn't really need to be cut but it was getting a little scraggly and Mike kept threatening to cut it. He told me that I had until the end of the weekend or he was taking matters into his own hands.

I took him to the salon where I get my 'do done. And although I got the documentation, I am bummed about the quality of the photos (forgot the SLR at home that day).

Written Warning

I received a written warning this weekend.

Once (only once!) I backed my small car into Mike's much larger car that was parked behind mine in the driveway. I was distracted and in a hurry and his car was not normally left in that spot. Ever since then he has been very leery of my driving skillz. On Saturday I found this note on the inside of my windshield.
Mike's all time favorite food is chicken pot pie (his mother's homemade recipe). I was wise to get that recipe from her early on since it is true that the way to a man's heart is through his belly. This weekend Hudson tried his first CPP.

Since he didn't seem to love it, Mike quickly decided that he will never have to share CPP with Hudson and thus there would always be more for him.
