In the Canadian West
Penny had baby Daphne 10 days ago and I flew out to visit the new family and help out where I could. Since I'm pretty sure I'd be in major trouble for posting pictures of Daphne on the internets, I will abstain from doing so. She is tiny and cute with tons of dark hair, just like her Mama.

Bubby Love
Our child has a love for his 'Bubby'. The name he has given to his pacifier. Every day I try to get it from him without tears and most days I fail. They are more hardcore at daycare and only allow Bubby at naptime.
This is a typical morning. Hudson has Bubby.
And I want him to leave Bubby at home.
What to do, what to do? I know, everyone tells us that they just grow out of it.
That same morning Mike was taking H's car seat out of his car. He's 19 months and we decided it's time to turn him forward facing. Mike hit the Bubby Jackpot when he found H's secret supply hidden behind the seat. He threw the Bubbies to H, who thought he'd died and gone to heaven.

Hockey Night in North Raleigh
THIS is Hudson's favorite book. It's the 1-2-3s of Canada, something I think every child should know. It's a good thing I married a dude from New York State to support all of my interests in the Great White North. Mike actually still plays OMH (old man hockey) every week.
He loves to point to all the pucks, sticks and skates. Then he wants to get on his own gear.
Marc Tetro Book Collection
My sister Penny (who delivered a baby girl on Friday morning!!) gave us most of the Marc Tetro books. They center around Canadian things. You know, like skating, hockey, snow, geese, drinking booze (nah, just kidding about that last one). The illustrations and colours are great for kids.
